Prepare a delicious meal for the family with Whole Grain Penne from Barilla, made with parmesan cheese and freshly chopped parsley.


  • 1 box Barilla Whole Grain Penne
  • 2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, grated
  • 1 pound Italian sausage casing removed
  • 1 jar Barilla Traditional Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh Italian parsley, chopped
  • salt & black pepper to taste


  1. Bring a large pot of water to boil, add salt
  2. Sauté sausage with olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until golden brown in color
  3. Add sauce and 1/2 cup of water, season with salt & black pepper
  4. Cook pasta according to package directions, drain pasta
  5. Add pasta to sauce and toss to coat
  6. Remove skillet from heat
  7. Top with parsley and cheese before serving
