Prepare a delicious meal for the family with Whole Grain Penne from Barilla, made with parmesan cheese and freshly chopped parsley.
Ingredients:
- 1 box Barilla Whole Grain Penne
- 2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, grated
- 1 pound Italian sausage casing removed
- 1 jar Barilla Traditional Sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh Italian parsley, chopped
- salt & black pepper to taste
Directions:
- Bring a large pot of water to boil, add salt
- Sauté sausage with olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until golden brown in color
- Add sauce and 1/2 cup of water, season with salt & black pepper
- Cook pasta according to package directions, drain pasta
- Add pasta to sauce and toss to coat
- Remove skillet from heat
- Top with parsley and cheese before serving
